According to the consolidated formula of our CineCampus, they lived and worked together under a very intensive schedule of activities culminating with the shoot of 12 short films in 6 days on 35mm film stock provided by Kodak Motion Picture Film. Shooting locations included the Botanical Gardens of the City of Catania, Palazzo Manganelli, Palazzo Paterno’ Auteri, the old harbour of Ognina, the archeological site Pit of Gammazita, among the others.

Besides the usual allotment of 500t and 250d film stock, this year for the first time a short film – Luma, directed by Rachel Albert, cinematography by Luisa Dale Silva, camera op Andrei Matalyha, set in the splendid Medieval Chapel Ardizzone Gioieni – was shot on the legendary double-x 5222 black & white film stock, we all are very much looking forward to see how it is gonna look like. And once again we would love to thank all Kodak team in London – especially Julie Taylor-Butt, Sam Clark and Alberto Rasura – to make all this possible.

Even this year the educational foundation of the CineCampus relied on the partnership between AIC, the Italian Society of Cinematographers, and BVK, the German Society of Cinematographers, thanks to a team lead by TDC Director Vincenzo Condorelli AIC and Osama Abou El Khair, together with Johannes Kirchlechner BVK and Martin Bethge BVK and the special participation of Daniele Massaccesi AIC. The Sicily Team was lead by cinematographer Prema Franceschini, coordinated by Anita Onofrio and formed by: Elio Strano, Giuseppe Guarrera, Christian Salerno, Salvo Di Bella. The Directing Department was guided by Michele Leonardi.

Among the Technical Partners, we had the return of Cartocci, one of the most historic brands of Italian cinema rentals, and the new entries constituted by Nanlite and Nanlux, which provided the CineCampus with a vas array of last generation LED lighting fixtures: thanks again Mirko Poppi and Gruppo TFS for this. This year Cooke Optics was represented for the first time by Jaimie Cluer who gave an in depth, live presentation of the new Varotal zooms to be used by the CineCampus.

A special mention for Augustus CineLab, whose enduring support constitutes an enormous added value, especially during the post-production of the CineCampus short thanks to the constant involvement of Maurizio Iacoella and Cristina Bagnasco, and above all Augusto Pelliccia who once again proved his generosity by granting all short films with free of costs 4K scanning for the online conforming.

Finally a BIG THANK YOU goes to each of the 28 actors who brought to life the short films of the TDC24 CineCampus wishing you every success for the continuation of your careers:
