Terre di Cinema is proud to announce an extraordinary technical partnership with Leitz Cine for the upcoming 2026 edition of the CineCampus in Siracusa. As part of our ongoing mission to offer emerging cinematographers access to world-class optical tools, participants will have the exclusive opportunity to shoot their short films with a full set of Leica Summilux-C cine prime lenses.
Etymologically derived from the Latin Summus (“highest” or “ultimate”) and Lux (“light”), the Summilux-C series embodies the peak of optical engineering. Built upon a century-old tradition of German precision and innovation that has fundamentally shaped the history of photography and motion picture imaging, these lenses are renowned across the global film industry for their natural skin tones, exceptional micro-contrast, and distinctive organic rendition.
Equipping our young Directors of Photography with top-tier optical craftsmanship elevates the creative scope of the CineCampus, allowing them to render the unique light, textures, and architecture of Ortigia with unparalleled visual depth.
We extend our sincere gratitude to Tony El Tom, BVK—Cinematographer and Sales Manager Europe at Leitz Cine—for his vision, trust, and commitment to supporting the next generation of visual storytellers. We also wish to acknowledge Martin Behtge, BVK, Senior Camera Tutor of the CineCampus, whose dedication to technical mastery and educational excellence continues to expand our international network of industry partners.
We look forward to this initial collaboration as the foundation of a long-standing alliance between Terre di Cinema and Leitz Cine, united by a shared passion for the art and craft of cinematography.
