We are thrilled to announce our 2014 Special Guest: Garrett Brown (ASC) , the inventor of the Oscar-winning Steadicam® camera stabilizer that he used it to shoot nearly 100 movies, including The Shining, Rocky and The Return of the Jedi.
Garrett Brown holds 50 patents worldwide for camera devices, including the Steadicam Merlin for camcorders, Skycam, which flies on wires over sporting events, and Mobycam and Divecam, which pursue swimmers and divers at the Olympics.
A legend in Hollywood for nearly 40 years, Garrett still lives and works in Philadelphia, venturing out to teach Steadicam operating worldwide and deliver his popular lecture on The Moving Camera.
He is a 2013 inductee into the National Inventor’s Hall of Fame.
