KRUM RODRIGUEZ (BAC)

Krum Rodriguez (BAC) was born in Sofia in 1977. He studied cinematography at the French Academy of Image in Bogotà, Columbia, then he graduated as cinematographer at the National Academy of Film in Sofia in 2005. In the meanwhile, he started to work as camera assistant in 2002 and made his debut as cinematographer in 2004 shooting many short films, such as I have something to tell you, Before life, After death, Family therapy and Diving, while making his name well known as one of the most appreciated bulgarian cinematographer for tv commercials.
In 2008 Forecast, directed by Sophia Zornitsa, was Krum’s first feature film, followed by Shelter (Podslon) in 2010, awarded as Best Film at the Bogotà International Film Festival and at the Buenos Aires International Festival of Independent Cinema.
In 2012, The Color of Chameleon, premiered at Toronto, thefirst feature directed by the acclaimed Bulgarian cinematographer Emil Christov, got a special mention at the 53° Thessaloniki International Film Festival, among many other awards worldwide.
He is actually working on the feature Viktoria directed by Maya Vitkova.
Krum Rodriguez’s cinematographic vision and style granted him many awards such as:
GOLDEN TADPOLE al Camerimage 2005, the International Film Festival of the Art of Cinematography,
Best Cinematography at the Next Reel New York 2005 for Before life, after death.
Special Award for Cinematography at the7th Belgrade International Festival for Student Films for Diving.
Award for Best Student Cinematographer at the 27th Manaki Brothers International Cinematographers Film Festival for Diving.
Best Camera Work at the St. Petersburgh Film Festival of Debut and Student Films 2006.
The New Visions Award at the 32nd ICFF “Manaki Brothers” 27th Manaki Brothers International Cinematographers Film Festival for Shelter.
Krum Rodriguez is a member of BAC, the Bulgarian society of cinematographers.
