The countdown has started to the 2014 edition of Terre di Cinema – International Meetings on Cinematography that will take place from June 22nd to July 6th in the medieval town of Forza D’Agrò, in the wonderful Taormina District (Sicily, Italy).

Among the many important developments regarding the fourth edition, we are proud to announce our partnership with the Sindacato Nazionale dei Giornalisti Cinematografici Italiani (SNGCI, Italian National Association of Film Journalists) that holds the prestigious Nastri D’Argento Awards during the days of our festival, in the marvelous scenario of the Ancient Theatre of Taormina on June 28th 2014.

The European and international vocation of the Festival is reinforced by a bigger film programme as compared to the 2013 edition, offering 24 European feature films, including a few national premieres. Our main section, the New Cinematographers Award, will showcase the works of 5 emerging European cinematographers who are distinguishing themselves in the international scene for the originality and quality of theirs visions. Master of Light will be dedicated to the great masters of cinematography, who have shaped, in the last decades, the aesthetic of European and international cinema. The Italian Cinematographers section will present the 5 nominees of the 2014 Nastri d’Argento Awards for Best Cinematography. Finally, the Focus On section, highlighting the cinema of the Balkans, and a brand new section on short films, in collaboration with one of the most important European Short Film Festival.

The 2014 Terre di Cinema CineCampus will host 36 students from all Europe and the Mediterranean, coming from the following film schools: Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia (Italy), NARAFI-LUCA School of Arts (Belgium), Tel Aviv University – Film & TV Department (Israel), Estudio de Cine (Spain), London Film School (United Kingdom), HFF Hochschule fur Film und Fernsehen “Konrad Wolf” (Germany) and St. Petersburgh State University of Film TV (Russia). There will be also an intensive workshop for actors, who will eventually join our film students crews in the shooting of the short films of the 2014 CineCampus.

The team of Terre di Cinema Technical Partners, already gathering the very best brands in the domain of high-end camera equipment and accessories – such as ARRI Italia, Avid, Cartoni, Panatronics, Zeiss – will also be joined by Sony, K5600 and Panalight. Their participation and support will offer the general audience and the professionals attending the festival a unique chance to test with their hands the state of the art of technological innovation in the field through a series of workshops, presentations and other special events.

All this and much more is waiting for you at Terre di Cinema 2014: come and join this amazing event, a great celebration of the art and craft of cinema and cinematography, dedicated to those who love films and those who make them.

Stay tuned.
