Grazie ancora ad Ed Lachman, ASC per aver passato con noi in Sicilia una splendida settimana partecipando a tutte le attività dell’Extended CineCampus ed alle proiezioni della nostra rassegna. La generosità ed il sostegno di Ed Lachman hanno lasciato un segno indimenticabile per gli studenti, gli ospiti e lo staff di TDC17 e siamo onorati di averlo premiato con il Masters of Light 2017.
Ed Lachman e’ un celebre e pluripremiato direttore della fotografia che ha firmato oltre 100 titoli tra gli Stati Uniti ed il resto del mondo, svariando dal genere di finzione al documentario ed al film sperimentale. Lachman ha collaborato con grandi registi di Hollywood, del circuito indipendente e del cinema europeo, tra cui Todd Haynes, Steven Soderbergh, Robert Altman, Paul Schrader, Todd Solondz, Sofia Coppola, Werner Herzog, Wim Wenders, Volker Schlondorff, Ulrich Seidl, Jean-Luc Godard.
Lachman e’ anche noto come artista visivo: le sue installazioni video e fotografiche sono state esibite al Whitney Museum of American Art, al Ludwig Museum in Germania ed in molti altri musei e gallerie di tutto il mondo.

We would like to express our gratitude to Ed Lachman, ASC who spent one week with us in Sicily featuring all the activities of the Extended CineCampus and the screenings of our festival. His generosity and support made the time spent together with our students, guest and staff unforgettable and we were honoured to award Ed with the TDC17 Masters of Light.
Ed Lachman, is a revered and award-winning cinematographer who shot over 100 titles in then United States and internationally in narrative, experimental and documentary forms. Lachman has collaborated with varied Hollywood, Independent and European directors: Todd Haynes, Steven Soderbergh, Robert Altman, Paul Schrader, Todd Solondz, Sofia Coppola, Werner Herzog, Wim Wenders, Volker Schlondorff, Ulrich Seidl, Jean-Luc Godard, among others.
Lachman is also known as a virtual artist who has had installations, videos and photography exhibiting at The Whitney Museum of American Art, The Ludwig Museum in Germany and many other museums and galleries throughout the world.
