Anime nere è un film del 2014 diretto dal regista italiano Francesco Munzi, liberamente tratto dall’omonimo romanzo scritto da Gioacchino Criaco.

Anime nere narra le vicende di tre fratelli, figli di un pastore dell’Aspromonte, coinvolti nella malavita del territorio. Luigi (Marco Leonardi), il più giovane dei tre, è un trafficante internazionale di droga; Rocco (Peppino Mazzotta) è un imprenditore che vive a Milano con la moglie Valeria (Barbora Bobuľová) e la loro bambina e non accetta lo stile di vita del fratello minore per quanto la sua attività vada avanti grazie a denaro illecito, riciclato in campo immobiliare; il maggiore dei tre, Luciano (Fabrizio Ferracane), è un allevatore di capre che si illude di poter vivere della sua terra. Il figlio di Luciano, Leo, ventenne rancoroso e spiantato, spara alcuni colpi di fucile sulla saracinesca di un bar protetto da un clan mafioso scatenando una guerra tra la sua famiglia e un clan della ‘ndrangheta.

Nel 2014, Anime Nere è in concorso alla 71° Mostra Internazionale dell’Arte Cinematografica di Venezia guadagnando una nomination al Leone d’Oro e vincendo diversi premi tra cui il Pasinetti Award per il Miglior Film e l’AKAI International Film Fest Award per la Miglior Regia. Nel 2015 ottiene numerose nomination ai David di Donatello, vincendo i premi per Miglior Film, Miglior Regia, Migliore Sceneggiatura e Migliore Produttore, ed una nomination ai Nastri d’Argento per la Miglior Fotografia e al Sidney Film Festival per il Miglior Film.

Anime Nere is a 2014 movie directed by Italian director Francesco Munzi, freely based on the novel written by Gioacchino Criaco.

Anime Nere narrates the story of anAspromonte’s shepherd three sons, involved in the underworld of the territory. Luigi (Marco Leonardi) is the youngest of the three and an international drug dealer; Rocco (Peppino Mazzotta) is an entrepreneur who lives in Milan with his wife Valeria (Barbora Bobulova) and their daughter and does not accept the lifestyle of his little brother even if his activities thrive thanks to illegal money, reinvested in  the real estate business; the oldest brother, Luciano (Fabrizio Ferracane), is a goat breeder who is under the illusion of being able to live in his homeland. Luciano’s son, Leo, a rancorous and penniless twenty year old boy, shoots the gate of a mafia clan protected bar, ignating a war between his family and ‘Ndrangheta’s clan.

In 2014, Anime Nere was in competition at the 71th Venice International Film Festival earning a nomination for a Golden Lion and won several awards including the Pasinetti Award for Best Film and the AKAI International Film Fest Award for Best Director. In 2015 he obtained numerous nominations at the David di Donatello Awards, winning awards for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Screenplay and Best Producer, and nominated for a Silver Ribbon for Best Cinematography and Best Picture at the Sydney Film Festival.

Arthur Hiller dirige nel 1972 L’uomo della Mancha, interpretato da Peter O’Toole e Sophia Loren. La pellicola è una trasposizione dell’omonimo spettacolo di Broadway del 1965 che vinse 5 Tony Award, tra cui Miglior Musical.

Durante la Santa Inquisizione Spagnola, nella Penisola Iberica, Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra (Peter O’Toole) viene imprigionato per i suoi romanzi definiti blasfemi. In attesa del processo, Cervantes racconta ai compagni di cella la storia della sua opera più famosa: Don Chisciotte della Mancia. Il fantasioso e folle Alonso Quixano, esaltato dalle antiche storie, con una malridotta armatura e a cavallo di un magro ronzino, parte in compagnia dell’improvvisato scudiero, Sancho, nel tentativo di rivivere e rinnovare i valori di un’epoca ormai perduta, la cavalleria. Don Chisciotte lotta contro i “mulini a vento”, vive qualcosa che non esiste, in un tempo che non è il suo diventando ben presto oggetto di scherno e di ilarità. Solo Dulcinea, umile sguattera elevata da Alonso al rango di soave damigella, rimarrà amorevolmente al fianco del cavaliere nel momento della sua morte.

L’uomo della Mancha viene nominato agli Academy Awards per la Miglior colonna sonoro originale e ai Golden Globe per Migliore attore protagonista e Miglior attore non protagonista. Peter O’Toole vince il National Board of Review per il Miglior attore per la sua interpretazione di Don Chisciotte.

Arthur Hiller directed in 1972 Man of La Mancha, starring Peter O’Toole and Sophia Loren. The film is a transposition of the homonymous Broadway show of the 1965, which won five Tony Awards, including Best Musical.

During the Spanish Inquisition, the Iberian Peninsula, Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra (Peter O’Toole) is imprisoned for his novels defined blasphemous. Pending trial, Cervantes tells cellmates the story of his most famous work: Don Quixote. The imaginative and crazy Alonso Quixano, exalted by the ancient stories, with a battered armor and riding a lean hack, together with his improvised squire, Sancho, travel across the Spain in an attempt to revive and renew the values ​​of an era now lost, the cavalry. Don Quixote fights against the “windmills”, living something that does not exist, in a time that is not his own and he soon became the butt of jokes and laughter. Only Dulcinea, humble drudge elevated by Alonso to the rank of a sweet lady, will lovingly remain alongside the Knight at the time of his death.

Man of La Mancha was nominated by Academy Awards for Best Original Soundtrack  and by Golden Globe for Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor. Peter O’Toole won the National Board of Review for Best Actor for his Don Quixote interpretation.
